Where The Cool Moms Go

So much news, so many gadgets, so many apps – and so little TIME! Which sites do you visit to stay current on kids & technology? I pondered this question while lifting my head from the depths of the Moms With Apps WordPress Dashboard. I needed a lift – another mom’s point of view – and here is where I turned:

Cool Mom Tech – Did you know that Cool Mom Tech has an “educational” category on their blog? In it, you can find hot trends in technology tools for kids. We were thrilled by their latest post which featured several of our Moms With Apps developers entitled Best iPhone Apps for a 4 Year Old Girl. Don’t miss their “about” page for an inspiring profile of successful mompreneurs.

The iPhone Mom – You name it, she’s got it. The iPhone Mom includes quality kid app reviews, intuitive navigation, and a fresh color scheme that will brighten your chilliest winter day. Our Moms With Apps developers appreciate her professional and courteous style, and the multitude of opportunities she presents for exposure on the site.

GeekMom – They had me at the tagline and graphics: Geek Mom –  Smart.Savvy.Social. So cool, and so true! Is There Such A Thing As Too Connected? Why Yes! And if Geek Moms can admit it, then so can I.

GeekDad – Dads are the new Moms. They don’t ask for directions because they like to figure it out for themselves. Sometimes this figuring makes for good reading material. Specifically, take note of 2011: Second Wave of Mobile Apps is Coming.  Dan’s five points on elements of the ultimate educational app should be noted by developers, parents, and educators alike.

So if I were ultra cool, I’d pull out my iPad, add these RSS feeds to my Pulse Reader, and skim the headlines while waiting for school pick-ups.

Well, OK, it’s a goal.

What about you? Which sites are in your line up?

  1. Don’t miss a4cwsp.com ( Apps for children with special needs). Great video demonstrations and reviews. If you want to see how an app runs before you buy it this is a great resource.
